The Role: UX Designer
M&G are looking for a talented UX Designer to join their Digital Experience team with a focus on UX and Interaction design to develop powerful journeys across our websites for clients, customers and advisers.
Key responsibilities:
- Information Architecture: Develop information architecture for websites to ensure a clear and logical structure.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes and prototypes to visualise and test design concepts.
- User Interface Design: Collaborate with visual design team to create appealing and intuitive user interfaces that align with the brand identity and user goals.
- Standards & Patterns: Own the over-arching design principles that can be rolled-out to teams that cascade the key principles across our digital experience.
- Design System: Ensure the Design System is maintained to enable collaboration across the overall digital design community.
Day to Day responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of our customer's pain points and needs.
- Employ a variety of design techniques, from sketches and wireframes to full-fledged mock ups and interactive prototypes, ensuring a high-quality, consistent, and seamless experience across both digital and physical products.
- Lead in user testing and usability studies to explore and validate ideas.
- Emphasise user-centric design, ensuring that everything we develop resonates with users whilst meeting business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, marketing, and community teams to create a unified digital experience, ensuring quality assurance and maintaining visual consistency.
Key knowledge, skills & experience:
For the role of UX Designer the ideal candidate will demonstrate experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Several years of experience in UX and/or product design.
- Delivering exceptional user experiences across websites focused on achieving design consistency.
- User research, usability testing, and translating insights into actionable design solutions.
- Proficiency in design tools and methodologies, including but not limited to Figma, wire framing, workflow diagramming, and prototyping.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex design concepts and utilising a blend of qualitative insights and quantitative data to steer design decisions.
- Autonomous work ethic with an ability to own it now and move it forward together.
- Strong discipline across web accessibility and usability priniples
- Strong discipline across the over-arching principles in HCI
- Experience in data visualisation would be advantegous
