Advocacy
As an advocate we can act on behalf of individuals to ensure they are listened to, ensuring they get there wants and needs met. It’s important that we get to know each disabled person well to enable us to represent individuals to the best of our ability.
We can communicate with others using the experience and knowledge we have gained over the years, so that preferences and opinions are heard. This gives disabled people choice and control over decisions and outcomes, thus defending individuals’ human rights.
We can liaise on your behalf with:
- Solicitors
- DWP/Benefits agency
- Social services, health & local authorities
- Education authority
- Residential colleges, homes & care agencies
- Medical professionals, GPs & specialists
